Solar Powered the Vision at Telegraph Townhomes
At Ecotech Solar, we’ve always believed in building a stronger, more sustainable future—together. In 2020, we were proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County and Kulshan Community Land Trust on their flagship Telegraph Townhomes Community in Bellingham. This 52-unit development was designed around energy efficiency, affordability, and shared community benefits—making it a natural fit for solar.
Through our “Buy One, Give One” model, for every residential solar installation purchased during our solar workshops, Ecotech donated a solar panel to the Telegraph project. By the end of that year, we had donated 14 solar panels.
These panels did more than generate electricity—they helped offset shared energy costs across the community, including outdoor and walkway lighting, signage, irrigation systems, and future needs like a community center or lighted bike storage. This meant lower costs for residents and enhanced sustainability for the neighborhood as a whole.
We hosted multiple solar workshops in 2020—including two just across the street from the Telegraph site—where homeowners learned about solar energy, toured the townhomes, and saw firsthand how solar was integrated into Habitat’s net-zero-ready designs.
As Habitat for Humanity explored energy-driven housing aligned with the local Climate Action Plan, we were honored to play a role in supporting clean, affordable housing solutions for Whatcom County families.
