Giving Back
Global Vision. Local Impact. Shared Energy.
At Ecotech Solar, we believe solar power is more than technology—it’s a way to serve people and build stronger communities. From the Pacific Northwest to villages across the world, we’re committed to using our knowledge, skills, and resources to make a meaningful difference.

Good Energy Starts with Good Neighbors
Caring for people is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s flying installers to Haiti, supporting our staff with meaningful work, or donating time and funds to local nonprofits, we show up for our community with the same care we bring to every solar installation.
Giving back is not a side project—it’s built into how we operate, and who we are.
Our Global Giving

Indonesia (2017)
In 2017, our founder Dana Brandt joined forces with Electric Vine Industries to bring clean energy to remote villages on the island of Sumba. Dana travelled to Indonesia to train staff and help with the deployment of the eleven micro-grid solar systems—bringing electricity to 1,000 households that had never had power before. These systems now support lighting, refrigeration, education, and communication for entire communities.

Haiti (2014)
In the fall of 2014, we traveled to Gonaïves, Haiti, to install a 4.3 kW off-grid solar and battery system at the Good Shepherd Orphanage. The orphanage is home to over 100 children. The solar system now provides essential electricity for lighting, refrigeration, drinking water, and basic needs—bringing hope and stability to a place that needed it most.
Kenya (2022)
We volunteered with the Clay International School on an off-grid solar and battery system to power their school in rural Kenya. We worked in tandem with the school as well as local distributors and technicians to design the system and oversee its installation. The 16kW system powers several buildings on the campus including classrooms and the computer lab. Access to the technology powered by this system is one component of the school’s incredible ongoing academic success.

A Life of Solar & Service
Ecotech Solar’s founder, Dana Brandt, earned his electrical engineering degree from Seattle Pacific University and a Master of Science in Renewable Energy while studying in Europe. He has written for Home Power and Solar Pro magazines, taught with Solar Energy International, and served as president of both the Washington Solar Energy Industries Association and Solar Installers of Washington. Dana’s global perspective and deep technical expertise shape Ecotech’s mission to deliver energy with integrity—at home and abroad.
Supporting Our Local Community
We’re proud to support organizations that are doing important work in our own backyard. Whether it’s helping schools save money with solar, sponsoring local events, or donating to nonprofits, our team is always looking for ways to give back.
We provide solar energy systems, financial support, volunteer hours, educational opportunities, and sponsorships to help these organizations—and amplify their impact.
Our Vision for Giving Back
We envision a region and a world where access to clean, reliable energy empowers people to live healthier, more sustainable lives. From neighborhood food banks to international solar deployments, we believe energy can be a force for good.
