Community Action of Skagit County Cuts Energy Costs, Boosts Impact with Solar
We’re proud to share the successful solar installation at Community Action of Skagit County’s Mount Vernon Resource Center—a project that brings clean energy, major cost savings, and long-term community benefit. Funded by the Puget Sound Energy Foundation’s Green Power Solar Grant, the system is projected to cut the facility’s energy usage in half, saving the organization $8,000 annually.
That’s not just money saved—it’s money reinvested into essential services that help Skagit County residents in need. Over the next 20 years, the installation is expected to generate $233,000 in savings, directly supporting programs that address poverty, housing, food access, and more.
This marks the second Green Power Solar Grant awarded to Community Action of Skagit County since 2017. Their commitment to environmental and economic sustainability is clear, and we’re honored to be part of a project that aligns so deeply with our values.
